Still downplaying operational risk and being inaccurate wrt the protections consumers get from segregated accounts.

Some of us remember your/USDC's reaction to the STABLE Act/PWG Report recs for stablecoins.

This "I want tough regulation" schtick is not convincing.

@rohan after the 2017 UK election, the office tory was *outraged* that all those *young* people were allowed to vote for *Corbyn* and they should be stopped

meaning 18-30

i am pleased to say the rest of the team looked at him funny until he stopped

decent solid chap, sensible and reliable, but not about politics

anyway that's where the blatant suppression of non-old voters in the UK right now is coming from

"but what if they collectively make bad decisions and bring down the quality of voting overall"

Oh right sorry of course let's just keep the crucially important decisions about the future of the planet to the remaining 65+ year olds who overwhelmingly skew Fox. Nailed it.

Lotta liberal/progressive people in the US who have been worrying about the threat to voting rights recently who wouldn't support lowering the voting age to 12, or 0, even though it's patently obvious it would be better for almost every issue they care about to enfranchise youth

Do not use Mastodon for anything that you’re not OK being 100% public. I’m surprised this hasn’t come up more here.

“Notes on operating fediverse services (Mastodon, Pleroma etc) from an English law point of view”

Fediverse and data protection has taken up quite a bit of time recently!

When introducing the LPE Project, I always start with the fact that 2 years before the Project started, the LPE Blog was launched. Why a blog? It was a way to bring together and amplify the work already being done by scholars across the country.

The thing I hate most about cashless society is the *vibe* - it's that gentrification feeling, that feeling when a rough old cash-only speakeasy is turned into a yuppie card-only wine bar, that feeling of formal institutions with rich guy execs dismantling informal economies
